Negotiation is an interaction of influences that involves the process of achieving agreement through discussions including resolving disputes, agreeing on the course of action, bargaining, and crafting outcomes to reach a satisfactory conclusion. This session will outline three basic elements of negotiating; process, behavior, and substance and examine varying approaches to negotiation; exploring the pros and cons of each. You will walk through examples of how to use these elements during project approval and vendor negotiations and look at varying approaches to negotiation and how to use them in everyday challenges.
